S.A.M. New Application

To apply for membership in the Society of American Magicians, simply read the oath, and if you agree, scroll down and select a membership type. Then, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the 'NEXT' button to continue the application process. Once you complete the application you will be asked again if you have read and agree with the OATH. If you agree and complete the requested information, you can select 'NEXT' and be presented with your total and payment options, including VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER, and PAYPAL. If you prefer to not apply online, you may click here to print an SAM Membership Application (PDF format) which you may fill out and mail along with your check or money order.

OATH

If accepted, I agree to elevate the art of magic, abide by the constitution, by-laws, code of ethics and rituals of The Society of American Magicians. I will cooperate with the Society in the promotion of its objectives, promote harmony and advance the ethics of the profession.

I will not condone the dissemination of trade secrets and principles related to magicians or magic effects with no effort or expectation by the recipient to obtain or acquire the information. I will not expose the secrets and principles of magic, nor will I support those who do. I will not copy, imitate, manufacture or sell the materials, ideas, principles, trade secrets or presentations of others without consent.

I will treat all my fellow compeers and all magicians with respect, encouraging fellowship, unity and cooperation.

.MEMBER - $65.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No recurring payments Includes 1 year national membership dues, PRINTED & MAILED M-U-M MAGAZINE and full access to the online edition of M-U-M. Applicant must be at least 18* years of age, have a sincere interest in magic, and reside in the U.S. or Puerto Rico to qualify. Assembly affiliation is optional.

*Junior Assembly Member candidates can apply between ages 14 to 17 with two assembly sponsors. See Assembly Membership Section of this application for qualifications.

.MEMBER (Paperless ) - $45.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No recurring payments Includes 1 year of national dues and all member benefits. With this paperless option, you ONLY receive access to the online edition of M-U-M magazine. NO PAPER MAGAZINES ARE MAILED.

Members world wide are eligible to save money on postage and dues with this low-cost membership option. Applicant must be at least 18* years of age and have a sincere interest in magic. Assembly affiliation is optional.

.MEMBER (Paperless-Active Military) - $35.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No recurring payments To qualify for this level of membership you must be active service in the military with proper I.D.

Includes 1 year of national dues and all member benefits. With this paperless option, you ONLY receive access to the online edition of M-U-M magazine. NO PAPER MAGAZINES ARE MAILED.

HOUSEHOLD MEMBER - $25.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No recurring payments Includes 1 year of national dues for any reputable person 14 years of age or older, sincerely interested in magic as an art, and lives in the same house of an S.A.M. member that receives M-U-M Magazine. Household members do NOT receive M-U-M magazine.

TRIAL MEMBER - $25.00 (USD) Subscription period: Quarterly No recurring payments This 4-month membership allow new applicants in the U.S., Canada and Mexico the opportunity to experience the many benefits of S.A.M. membership. Trial Members are mailed 4 issues of M-U-M and have access to the online version of M-U-M. Any reputable person 18 years of age or older, sincerely interested in magic as an art, is eligible for trial membership.
